BOHEMIAN WAXWING (Bombycilla garrulus)

The Bohemian waxwing is red-gray with black throat, a black ribbon through each eye and with yellow star tip. The feather, which is soft and nice, forms a very long tufs on the head. The Bohemian waxwing has a short beak which is slightly depressed by the nose root. The wings are long and spotted. Body length 19 cm, wing buckle 32-36 cm. Weight 60 grams.

It has a very special song that is often heard from flying flocks. The song is described as among the sounds of silver bells.

All pictures are taken today, 19.11.2017 on my backyard when the Bohemian waxwing was eating Ribes alpinum, known as mountain currant or alpine currant.
